About the role
The Behavioral Health unit is a 24-bed unit. What sets us apart from other units is the teamwork with all of us having the same goal: provide safe, quality, and compassionate care close to home!
Responsibilities
- Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
- Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
Requirements
- Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
- Associate's degree in nursing required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
- Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.

Pay
Hourly range: $31.49 - $42.51 per hour. $20,000 sign-on bonus eligibility.
Schedule
12-hour shift for full-time requiring 36 hours/week with every other weekend, 7A-7P.
