About the role

Performs plan-of-care interventions, documents patient care, monitors and communicates patient condition, assists with activities of daily living, collaborates across disciplines, assesses learning needs, delivers patient and family education, advocates for patient well-being, participates in performance improvement, and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintains patient safety and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Affords patients with activities of daily living support.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Delivers age- and culture-appropriate patient and family education.
  • Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • ASLS certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Handle with Care preferred.

Skills

  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments.
  • Able to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems.
  • Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand).

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
  • Sitting, squatting, and kneeling occasionally.
  • Rarely running or climbing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
  • Skills: Critical thinking and decisive judgment; ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments; ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems; effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand).
