Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies.
  • Oversee and supervise the shift.
  • Demonstrate leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc.
  • Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team.
  • Monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
  • Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
  • Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
  • Deliver quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies.
  • Assist/perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.

Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Associate's degree in nursing required.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients preferred.
  • Current RN license as required by state regulations.
  • CPR and de-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.

Schedule

3x12, days (7a-7p).

About Mesa Springs

Mesa Springs is a behavioral health hospital located in Fort Worth, TX. We provide inpatient and outpatient programming for those facing mental health and addiction challenges. Our programs offer compassionate behavioral health treatment for children, adolescents and adults as well as specialized treatment for military, veterans, first responders and other frontline professionals as part of our Help for Heroes® program. Programs include inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
