Registered Nurse (RN)

About the role

This position is a part-time Registered Nurse role at a Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Fergus Falls. The RN is responsible for performing experienced, professional nursing care, including assessing and diagnosing patient needs, developing individualized nursing plans, providing direct nursing interventions or delegating tasks, and evaluating care effectiveness. The RN participates as a member of the treatment team and may act as charge nurse when assigned. CBHHs are 16-bed inpatient psychiatric facilities for adults experiencing serious mental health episodes, with treatment focused on stabilization, patient education, and discharge planning to prevent future episodes.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose the needs of patients
• Develop individualized nursing plans in coordination with the multi-disciplinary team
• Provide direct nursing interventions or delegate specific nursing tasks to appropriate staff
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and the care provided
• Act as charge nurse when assigned

Requirements

• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse
• Future Registered Nurses within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX-RN are encouraged to apply; contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX-RN

Preferred Qualifications

• Patient care experience within a mental health or behavioral health setting
• Experience working in a hospital setting

Additional Requirements

• Resume must clearly describe experience in listed areas and include beginning and ending month and year for each job held
• Reference and background checks will be conducted to verify job-related credentials and criminal background
• Documentation of freedom from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test is required prior to employment (TB skin testing is not accepted)

Schedule

• Rotating shift: 6:30 am–3:00 pm; 2:00 pm–10:30 pm
• Night shift: 9:00 pm–7:00 am
• Days of work vary; may include weekends and holidays

Pay

$40.59 – $60.06 per hour
