Registered Nurse RN Ambulatory Gastro FT - Detroit

About the role

This position will mainly consist of inpatient & outpatient procedures. Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in an ambulatory gastro clinic setting.
• Coordinates and delegates care to other members of the health care team.
• Performs assessments, develops and implements care plans, evaluates outcomes, and documents care.
• Communicates with patients and families about their care and treatment plans.
• Works collaboratively with the health care team to address patient needs and concerns.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and ensures adherence to established standards of care.

Requirements

• Must have 1-2 years of recent nursing experience in an inpatient or ambulatory environment.
• Will consider Nurse Tech/LPN experience.
• Pre/Post/Procedural experience is a plus.
• Strong IV skills are preferred.
• Candidate must be self-directed and motivated.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced endoscopy unit.

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required.
• RN Lactation Consultant certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire and maintained.
