About the role

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position. Works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care
  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Demonstrate clinical competence in area of specialty
  • Participate in quality assurance, research, and shared governance activities

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation
  • Maintain and demonstrate current clinical knowledge in area of specialty
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills

Qualifications

  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
  • Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy
  • Certification required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard (e.g., Oncology Certified Nurse - OCN)
  • Preferred experience in the specialty

Schedule

  • 36 hours per week
  • Midnights (12-hour shifts)
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotations
