Registered Nurse RN - Adult Behavioral Health
Position Purpose
In the Adult Behavioral Unit at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality inpatient care to adults experiencing acute and chronic mental health and substance use disorders. You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting patient recovery and well-being.
What You Will Do
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and mental health status, including psychiatric stability and withdrawal symptoms
- Administer medications safely, monitor for effectiveness and side effects, and educate patients on treatment plans
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers
- Monitor patient progress and document clinical findings accurately and timely
- Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and de-escalation when needed
- Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- One or more years of Mental Health, Substance Use Treatment, or Behavioral Health acute inpatient setting experience
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Position Highlights
- Part Time – 24 Hrs/Nights
- Every Other Weekend/Holiday
