About the role

Responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care of assigned patient. Responsible and accountable for supervising and delegating care and tasks to other personnel. Assigned patients may vary in age for infancy through geriatrics. Hours of work and length of shift may vary from the established schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and makes decisions about changes in patient conditions, verbal and written reports to the healthcare team.
  • Care is coordinated and documented by the nurse.
  • Customizes discharge instructions as appropriate for each patient.
  • Maintains skills pertinent to the Emergency Department (ED) – splinting, dressing applications, wound care, triage assessment skills, and Meditech documentation skills.
  • Delegates appropriately to UC, NAII, PCT and Liaison to coordinate and expedite patient care.
  • Recognizes and adapts to changing patient acuity/volume and prioritizes appropriately.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within three months of employment.
  • ACLS, ASLS, PALS, NIHSS within twelve months of hire.

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred.
  • One year experience in area applying for TNCC.
