About the Role

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care for patients admitted to the nursing unit. Responsibilities include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform related duties such as Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Responsibilities

• Deliver and supervise patient care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization.
• Access and connect patients with community resources.
• Perform Charge Nurse duties if ACLS certified.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if applicable.
• Current BLS certification (AHA approved within 90 days of employment).
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment (AHA approved).
• Current ACLS certification required for Charge Nurses.

Qualifications

• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
