About the role
Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i's only maternity, newborn, and pediatric specialty hospital. It is recognized as the leader in women's, infant, and child care. The hospital has 253 beds and delivers 6,000 babies annually, serving as a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport, and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialized care.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing services through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient care.
- Function as an associate to a charge nurse.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities after gaining experience.
Requirements
- Current Hawai'i Registered Nurse license.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) CPR cards.
- One (1) year of recent acute care registered nurse experience in at least two of the following areas: Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Room, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and/or Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Family Birth Center (L&D), Mother Baby Care Unit (MBCU), Med Surg, Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field preferred.
