REGISTERED NURSE, Recovery Room - Per Diem

About the Role

Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres in Sparks, Nevada. This per diem Recovery Room Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity offers a convenient schedule and involves providing direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations in the operating room (OR) environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
• Communicate continuously with surgeons and anesthesiologists regarding patient condition.
• Assist with the maintenance of surgical equipment and pain management inventory.
• Assess operating room/procedure room for equipment readiness and obtain supplies for individual cases.
• Ensure all needs of the surgical operating team are met.
• Monitor, position, and assist patients during procedures.
• Demonstrate supportive behaviors for bedside report using IMAP & SBAR in partnership with the patient.
• Perform head-to-toe pre-procedure assessments and reassess post-procedure as needed.
• Formulate and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Adequately assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques.
• Educate patients and families regarding pain management.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Nevada.
• Two years of nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
