Role Overview
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing across all Nursing Units and overseeing hospital activities in the absence of senior management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide various departments by conducting shift visits, interpreting policies, and managing patient placement and transfers.
- Screen incoming patients for appropriate admission and facilitate proper care levels.
- Represent the hospital administratively, acting as spokesperson, investigating incidents, and addressing issues.
- Consult with on-call administrators and coordinate emergency operations if needed.
- Perform clinical functions and address patient, family, and physician concerns, collaborating with relevant staff.
- Ensure staffing coverage for shifts, assigning staff based on needs, and adjusting schedules in KRONOS.
- Utilize competency checklists for staff reassignment and monitor staff performance, including PRN pool associates.
- Work collaboratively with other supervisors and staffing personnel to optimize resource utilization.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- RN License in the state of employment or compact licensure.
- BLS certification.
