Registered Nurse-Quality Management Accreditation Specialist

About the role

The QM Consultant position serves as the Accreditation Specialist, focusing on continuous readiness for various accrediting organizations and regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission, The Office of Inspector General, Ascellon / Long term review, Food and Drug Administration, and others.

Responsibilities

• Primary oversight and consultative services towards organizational continuous readiness for accrediting organizations and regulatory bodies.
• Assist in the coordination of accreditation program-specific teams based on organizational needs.
• Keep self and facility staff updated on regulatory changes.
• Aid in the development, implementation, and monitoring of corrective actions.
• Participate in Environment of Care and Construction rounds to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assume responsibility for timely completion of self-assessments as required by regulatory bodies.
• Engage in several facility councils, committees, and workgroups.
• Execute responsibilities demonstrating effective leadership, detailed planning, professional communication, creative and innovative approaches to improving safety and healthcare program development.
• Organize priorities and collaborate with leaders and others to maintain a culture of safety, modeling High Reliability Organization (HRO) practices.
• Support facility leadership in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the quality program within the facility.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen, current or former VHA and federal employee, and submit Official Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50).

Qualifications

• Basic Requirements: English language proficiency, graduate of a nursing program approved by an accrediting agency, and current full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse.
• Grade Determinations: Scope, Education, and Dimension criteria must be met to determine grade and level within the online assessment.
• Preferred Experience: Accreditation or regulatory compliance, multi-tasking, managing multiple action plans, facilitating resolution for findings from multiple regulatory agencies, tracking & trending data, facility tracers, and Excel skills.
