Registered Nurse - Pulmonary Post Thoracic Surgery

About the role

Provide specialized nursing care for post-thoracic surgery patients, including those undergoing lobectomy, pneumonectomy, VATS procedures, and chest wall surgeries. Collaborate closely with thoracic surgery and pulmonary interventional teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, including lung cancer.
• Monitor and care for chest tubes, pleural drains, and post-operative complications.
• Assess and respond to respiratory issues using oxygen therapy, high-flow devices, and non-invasive ventilation.
• Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse with valid licensure from the state or multi-state license recognition ("Compact State").
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Diploma or equivalent from an accredited nursing program.
• Preferred: ACLS certification within three months of employment.
