Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

About the role

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to patients with neurological and medical-surgical conditions. Support recovery from stroke and neurological disorders, promote safety, and facilitate healing. Collaborate with healthcare teams, build relationships with patients and families, and ensure optimal outcomes. Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols, including PPE usage.

Key duties

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neuro PCU patients
• Support patient recovery from stroke and neurological disorders
• Foster a safe environment and promote patient safety
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and build relationships with patients and families
• Ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols, including PPE usage
• Engage in continuous learning
• Adhere to hospital policies
• Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions

Qualifications & skills

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
• Current NYS RN license
• Preferred: BSN
• Preferred: clinical experience in acute or ambulatory settings
• Preferred: specialty certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS)
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Compassionate care approach
• Teamwork skills
