Registered Nurse - PRN Float Pool

About the Role

This position involves providing independent nursing care in Medsurg, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care settings, utilizing clinical judgment and the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine and complex patient care aligned with treatment plans, addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care activities accurately.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care and resources, assessing learning needs.
• Utilize critical thinking to develop and modify care plans, communicate findings, and evaluate patient responses.
• Manage patient throughput, including admissions, discharges, and transfers, to ensure smooth flow.
• Oversee unit operations, staff needs, and resource management, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
• Engage in quality improvement, evidence-based practices, and maintain compliance with healthcare standards.
• Follow clinical policies, ensure proper use of medical equipment, and process medical orders accurately.
• Read and interpret patient charts, recognize safety issues, and promote a safe environment for patients.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medsurg/Telemetry and Intermediate Care; 5 years preferred.
• Current RN license; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; licensure in state or compact.
