Registered Nurse - Post Surgical PACU

About the Role

The registered nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, providing both routine and complex patient care. They assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions, addressing patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs. Delegation and assignment of tasks to care team members are essential skills to manage clinical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care aligned with professional standards and organizational competencies.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
• Address diverse patient needs, including mental health, emotional, and social aspects.
• Administer medications and treatments using approved protocols, monitoring for side effects.
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice or via a compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS and PALS are required within specified timeframes.
• New hires must complete organizational orientation and competency validations.
• Ongoing certification renewals are mandated to ensure compliance with clinical standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing specialty preferred.
• Experience in perioperative settings or similar clinical areas is advantageous.
