About the role

The role involves delivering quality care through teamwork, ensuring patient safety, supporting pain management, and providing discharge planning. The position requires assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Executes appropriate policies & procedures to assure patient safety.
  • Supports pain management and non-pharmacological measures.
  • Affords appropriate support for patient/family comfort measures.
  • Formulates and documents a discharge plan maximizing patient's ability to continue meaningful life activities.
  • Provides information and interpretation of patient's condition and offers coping mechanisms.
  • Assesses patient's need for information and utilizes appropriate language and approach.
  • Foresees potential age-specific healthcare needs and identifies issues for patient education.
  • Facilitates appropriate responses from other health care team members for quality and safe care.
  • Explores and modifies patient care regimens with discretion.
  • Attends educational sessions to enhance departmental needs.
  • Plans and provides unique comfort measures using evidence-based practice.
  • Participates in unit and hospital committees.
  • Engages in performance improvement activities.
  • Prepares for Joint Commission readiness.
  • Improves patient satisfaction scores and understands HCAAPS measurements.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree or graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: None preferred, but previous nursing experience is beneficial.
  • Certifications: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Registered Nurse - NJ, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale Certification, ACLS, NRP, PALS.
  • Training: Participates in various workshops and training programs.
