About the role

The role involves delivering quality care through teamwork, ensuring patient safety, managing pain and pharmacological measures, and providing discharge planning. It also requires assessing patient needs, integrating assessment information, and anticipating healthcare needs.

Responsibilities

  • Executes appropriate policies & procedures to assure patient safety.
  • Supports pain management and non-pharmacological measures.
  • Aids patients and families in identifying individualized comfort measures.
  • Follows up on internal resources and reports on intervention outcomes.
  • Mobilizes resources in complex cases to enhance patient control and participation.
  • Provides information and coping mechanisms to patients and families.
  • Assesses patient information needs and documents a discharge plan.
  • Foresees potential age-specific healthcare needs and anticipates patient needs.
  • Attends educational sessions to improve departmental abilities.
  • Plans and provides unique comfort measures using evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborates with case managers and health care providers to resolve issues.
  • Develops and adjusts staffing patterns as needed.
  • Participates in unit and hospital committees and performance improvement activities.
  • Prepares for Joint Commission readiness and achieves satisfactory Patient Satisfaction scores.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Education: Associate's degree or graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Experience: None preferred, but previous nursing experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider.
  • Registered Nurse - NJ.
  • TNCC certification or obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification or obtain by end of orientation.
  • ACLSC (or obtain within 6 months of hire), NRP (or obtain within 6 months of hire), PALS (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
