Registered Nurse - Per Diem

Position: Sexual Assault Nurse (Per-Diem) Location: Emergency Department Pay Range: $37.25 - $57.74/hour, based on experience and expertise Role Overview: The Sexual Assault Nurse (SANE) provides compassionate, independent forensic nursing care to adult and adolescent sexual assault survivors. Responsibilities include conducting medical forensic exams, head-to-toe assessments, detailed anogenital examinations, forensic specimen collection, and photographic documentation. The nurse collaborates with emergency staff, law enforcement, victim advocates, and legal teams, ensuring compliance with professional standards and participating in courtroom proceedings. Key Responsibilities: Perform forensic collection, STI management, and assess vicarious traumaAttend peer review meetings and ensure adherence to standards and regulationsWork closely with hospital staff, law enforcement, and community programsParticipate in training, documentation, and courtroom testimony as needed Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferredCurrent Illinois RN licensureCertified in AA SANE through the Illinois Attorney General or approved certificationExperience in forensic nursing preferredComputer literacy, including Epic EMR training
