About the role
Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is a leading healthcare provider in Hawai‘i, offering specialized care for women, infants, and children. It is a nonprofit hospital with 207 beds and 66 bassinettes, specializing in maternity, newborn, and pediatric care. The hospital is also a tertiary care, medical teaching, and research facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, individualized, and family-centered care to medically fragile children and patients from birth to approximately 6 to 8 years of age.
- Offer complex medical/surgical care, telemetry, cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, chest tubes, traction, Bi-pap ventilation, apnea monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia phototherapy, and IV therapy.
- Participate in the Children’s Oncology Group to access the most current treatment options through clinical trials.
Requirements
- Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
- Willingness to participate in a 10-week training program with no PTO or time off during the program.
- Availability to rotate between night shift and day shift, weekends, and varying shift lengths including 4, 8, 10, or 12 hours.
Qualifications
- Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
- Willingness to participate in a 10-week training program with no PTO or time off during the program.
- Availability to rotate between night shift and day shift, weekends, and varying shift lengths including 4, 8, 10, or 12 hours.
Skills
- Comprehensive care for medically fragile children.

Pay
The pay range for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity. The pay range is 49.62 - 70.89 USD per hour.
