Registered Nurse Pediatric ICU
About the role
As a Registered Nurse Pediatric ICU, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn –whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. The Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit. The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates and coordinates treatment plans and the plan of care.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- Texas or Compact State Nursing License
- ACLS Certification
- BCLS Certification
- PALS Certification within 6 months of hire
- Associates or Bachelors of Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in PICU preferred
- Leadership and management experience preferred
