About the role

Baptist Clay is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for full-time day shifts in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) department. New hires are eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide care to patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, or other conditions, including chronic medical issues and minor injuries or illnesses. You will use the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to meet patient needs, supervise supportive personnel, and coordinate care with ancillary services. You will also include patients and their significant others/families in developing individualized care plans and educate them about disease processes and care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement
• Educate patients and families about disease processes and care plans
• Interact with physicians and other hospital departments
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
• Act as the patient advocate
• Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Arts/Science in Nursing (BA/BS) (preferred)
• 1-2 years of hospital experience
• 1-2 years of cardiac experience (preferred)
• 1-2 years of telemetry experience
• Diploma nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care experience

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
• Conscious Sedation Certification (preferred)
• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification (preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
