About the Role
Provides for patient needs through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement. Responsibilities include organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel, coordination of care by ancillary services, and inclusion of patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care. Educates patients/SO/families about their disease process and plan of care. Serves as a patient advocate and delivers care to patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, or other conditions, including chronic medical issues and minor injuries or illnesses.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.
- Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement.
- Educate patients and families about their disease process and plan of care.
- Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
- Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of Medical-Surgical Nursing experience.
- Telemetry experience.
- Hospital experience.
