Registered Nurse PAT

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments on all patients and makes arrangements for medical evaluation and or testing as applicable prior to patients scheduled procedure/surgery.
• Makes phone screenings of pre-operative surgical patients, providing arrival times and pre-operative instructions.
• Reviews medical and medication histories, orders, and determines when lab work is needed.
• Provides comprehensive instructions to patients on preparing for procedures, including pre-op testing, NPO guidelines, and arrival times.
• Ensures the medical record is complete with all necessary test results and documents.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• Current RN license preferred.
• Two (2) years related experience and or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior working experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Computer efficiency and willingness to learn multiple new programs.
• Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, communication by e-mail, and use of specialty software.
• Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and present information to patients, families, co-workers, etc.
• Ability to work variable hours and be flexible to meet the needs of the center’s daily surgery schedule.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to function effectively in stressful situations.
• Ability to follow direction and willingness to be trained and learn.
• Ability to work with all disciplines in the facility in a professional manner.
• Must display good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly stand, walk, sit, talk or hear.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Schedule

Shift Type: 4 days per week, 10 hours per week - Variable day off (No weekends)

Pay

$35 - $45 per hour, depending on experience
