About the Role
Provides direct obstetric (OB) nursing care for inpatient and outpatient gynecology, obstetrics, and newborn patients, including treatment, medication administration, patient education, and discharge planning. Collaborates with the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop and implement individualized care plans while promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
This is a safety-sensitive role that requires alertness and strict adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Promote patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
- Educate patients and families on managing illness, medications, and post-discharge needs.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans to ensure continuity of care.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while respecting patient preferences and cultural considerations.
- Participate in professional development and maintain compliance with nursing standards.
- Work in a safety-conscious manner, maintaining constant alertness.
Requirements
- Active RN license.
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in OB, Labor & Delivery (L&D), Post-Partum, or Nursery is required.
- No prior experience required; less than 2 years of experience preferred.
