About the role
The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
- Oversees any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan.
- Performs Limited Laboratory Services to include: patient identification and preparation for specimen collection, processing samples for testing, performing required quality control testing and instrument maintenance and function checks, monitoring, recording and reporting tests results to clinicians to include critical values, and maintaining competency/certification of the aforementioned tasks and duties.
- Assists with performance improvement initiatives and provides leadership to other members of the patient care team.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license required.
- BLS required.
- Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.
Specialty Experience
- Emergency Room: 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 2 years emergency room experience preferred.
- Labor and Delivery: 2-4 years labor and delivery experience preferred; ACLS required within 6mo of hire or transfer.
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/Intermediate Care Unit: 2-4 years neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience preferred; NRP (NALS) required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.
- Mother/Baby Unit (OB): 2-4 years mother/baby experience preferred; NRP (NALS), required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.
- Perinatology: 3 years labor and deliver experience preferred; OB certification required.
- Operating Room: Minimum 1 year medical/surgical experience desired; 1-2 years operating room experience preferred.
- Critical Care (ICU): 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years critical care experience preferred.
- Medical/Surgical: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
- Dialysis (renal, acute): 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years dialysis experience preferred.
- Pediatrics: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years pediatric experience strongly preferred.
- Radiology (radiology adm): 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 interventional experience preferred.
- Cath Lab (cath lab, EP): 1-2 years critical care, emergency room or telemetry experience preferred; 1 year cath-lab experience preferred.
- Trauma ICU: 1 year trauma experience required 2 years preferred.
- Oncology (1 south/ 1 Meadow): 1 --2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; Chemotherapy experience preferred.
- Endoscopy: Minimum 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 yrs. endoscopy, telemetry and critical care experience preferred.
- Cardiac Diagnostic: 1 --2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years critical care experience preferred.
- Progressive Cardiac Care unit (PCCU): 2-5 years telemetry experience preferred.
- Progressive Care unit (PCU): 2-5 years telemetry experience preferred.
- Telemetry (2West/2 Pines, 6 Harmony): 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
- Radiation Oncology: 1--3 Years Oncology Experience Preferred. OCN Preferred.
- Medical Oncology Infusion Services: 1-3 years oncology experience preferred; ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Competency Provider required within 6 mos. from date of hire or transfer.
- PACU/SDS: 1-3 years critical care or PACU experience required.
- Pre-Admission Testing (PAT): 1-3 Years Medical/surgical Experience Preferred.
- Structural Heart: 2-3 year experience in cardiology.
