Registered Nurse- PACU/Recovery Room

About the Role

Join the Main Campus Recovery Room/PACU at MetroHealth, a state-of-the-art Level One Trauma Center serving pediatric through adult patients in the immediate post-operative period. This role involves collaboration with OR, ED, Inpatient RNs, Pre/Post Phase 2 staff, Anesthesia, Surgeons, PT, Radiology, and Pharmacy teams.

• 26-bed unit (Bay platform)
• 40-50 surgical cases daily
• Rotating shifts, including holidays and call requirement
• Bi-weekly hours: 64.00

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient airway
• Assess hemodynamic stability and support
• Monitor sedation, neurological, neuromuscular, and sensory motor status
• Provision of adequate pain and comfort measures
• Assess wound/incision integrity
• Overall patient assessment

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation)
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN roles require 1 year of relevant RN experience and all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
