Registered Nurse - PACU - Per Diem

About the Role

This per diem Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) involves providing direct patient care across all age groups following surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, monitors physiological status, manages pain, and communicates with surgical and anesthesia teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and formulate individualized care plans.
• Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-procedure assessments.
• Reassess pain levels and educate patients and families on pain management.
• Demonstrate supportive bedside reporting.
• Adhere to policies and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Maintain regulatory standards and ensure teamwork in the unit.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Preferably one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care PACU.
• Handle with Care certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
