Registered Nurse - PACU - Per Diem

About the role

This per diem Registered Nurse PACU provides direct patient care in a surgical recovery environment, addressing psychosocial, physical, and clinical needs of patients from infants to geriatrics. The nurse monitors physiological status, manages pain, and collaborates with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safe recovery.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments
• Develop individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on pain management
• Maintain regulatory compliance
• Perform pre- and post-procedure assessments using IMAP & SBAR
• Formulate and evaluate care plans for surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures
• Assess and manage patient pain and educate on pain control techniques
• Maintain equipment, inventory, and compliance with policies and standards
• Participate in performance improvement activities

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program with current Nevada license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Preferably one year full-time or three years part-time PACU experience
• Handle with Care certification (or obtained within six months)
