Schedule

Full time, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents all procedures and assessments according to department policy
• Obtains or delegates the obtaining of a nursing history and completes admission assessments, including pain screening
• Evaluates patients for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, physiological norms, and signs of abuse or neglect
• Conducts follow-up assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress
• Identifies patient teaching needs and provides education on a planned or spontaneous basis
• Administers treatments and medications, interprets and verifies physician orders, and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) [Preferred]
• Computer proficiency [Required]
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal [Required]
• Knowledge and skill in providing care and initiating procedures for patients with medical and/or surgical conditions
• Competence in the use of a computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, stethoscope, blood pressure monitor, thermometer, glucose monitor, pulse oximeter, weight scale, ENT scope, personal protective equipment, and other patient care equipment necessary to perform required duties
• Ability to tactfully handle delicate, sensitive, and sometimes controversial issues related to the care of terminally ill patients and their families
• Good clinical judgment
• Promotes patient safety through effective communication
• Oncology experience [Required]
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures [Required]
• Ability to work as a team player within a unit [Required]
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills [Required]
• Knowledge of Radiation Oncology clinical pathways [Required]
• PACU, Pre- and Post-Anesthesia Knowledge [Required]

Qualifications

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
• 1+ years acute care experience [Preferred]
• 1+ years oncology experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]

Pay

$31.53 - $52.24 per hour
