Registered Nurse - Orthopedics - Full Time - days

About the Role

Join the Orthopedics (Seton 2) RN Team in a full-time day shift capacity at Lourdes Hospital. Orthopedics (Seton 2) is a dynamic, 24-bed inpatient orthopedic surgical unit specializing in elective and emergent surgeries, including total knee and hip replacements, shoulder, and spinal procedures. The unit has telemetry monitoring capacity and emphasizes collaboration, communication, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, developing and coordinating individualized plans of care to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions effectively.
• Perform and maintain essential competencies required by the specific area of hire and population served.
• Advocate for ethical and holistic care, promoting patient autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs.
• Foster a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff, healthcare team members, and the community.
• Integrate evidence-based practice and data to improve patient outcomes while ensuring safety for patients, self, and the environment.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, practicing at the top of licensure within legal and ethical standards.
• Demonstrate leadership as a change agent, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and model professional behaviors.
• Participate in planning and presenting educational programs.
• Proficiency in information technology, including electronic health records and communication systems.
• Work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff.
• Use independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery.
• Manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations with a positive and supportive attitude.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• BSN in Nursing preferred; previously agreed-upon timelines for obtaining a BSN remain in effect, including for those transitioned from the NLRN Program.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are unit-dependent.
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, or transition from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program with less than one year of experience.
• Must meet unit-specific educational requirements during employment as determined by the Nursing Department and Nursing Unit.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $54.12 per hour plus differentials.
