About the Role
Provides clinical leadership and direct patient care in an acute inpatient setting, emphasizing patient/family-centered care. Demonstrates competency through evidence-based practices in assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes, while incorporating safety, cost containment, and quality improvement. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards (TJC, CMS, SC DPH), and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop, update, and communicate individualized care plans, set measurable goals, and coordinate discharge planning.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs, recognize changes, and prioritize care.
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and team members.
- Provide direct nursing care, delegate tasks appropriately, and monitor quality and safety.
- Utilize performance indicators, participate in quality improvement, and document effectively.
- Educate patients and families, promoting understanding and involvement.
- Maintain professional competence, licensure, and adhere to policies.
- Serve as an advocate and care coordinator, performing additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
- Minimum one year of RN experience or completion of a recognized residency program.
- Current RN license recognized by NCSBN Compact or applicable state.
