About the role
We are hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for our Surgical Services unit, located at Baptist South. This day-shift opportunity requires call with a 40-minute response time and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay. As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams, serving as the patient’s primary advocate and ensuring the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period.
Responsibilities
- Check-in and receive patient assignments.
- Serve as a Circulating Nurse, meeting patients in the OR and remaining with them for the duration of their procedure to ensure appropriate care until transfer to PACU.
- Verify patient information, position the patient, manage the operating room, and initiate counts.
- Work with a singular patient in complex cases or multiple patients having shorter procedures, depending on scheduled surgeries.
Requirements
- Associate of Science in Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Preferred)
- 2-3 years of Surgical Services experience
- 2-3 years of Critical Care Nursing experience
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
- Conscious Sedation Certification – Preferred
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) – Preferred
- Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) – Preferred
- Active Registered Nurse License – Required
