Registered Nurse, Operating Room, PRN, Baptist Clay

Responsibilities

• Work closely with physicians and operating room teams
• Receive patient assignments and check in
• Work with singular or multiple patients in various procedures
• Act as a Circulating Nurse, meeting patients in the OR and remaining with them until transferred to PACU care
• Provide care and documentation during the intra-operative period
• Verify patient information, position the patient, manage the room, and initiate counts
• Coordinate and prepare assigned rooms/cases
• Assess patient care needs and anticipate needs of the case
• Work shifts based on department needs and schedule
• May have a call requirement with a 40-minute response time

Requirements

• 2-3 years Surgical Services Experience
• 2-3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience
• Registered Nurse Education & Credential Requirements:
• Associate of Science in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
• Conscious Sedation Certification Required
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Preferred

Qualifications

• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (required), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
• Credential: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required, Conscious Sedation Certification Required, CNOR or CCRN Preferred
• Licensure: Licensed Registered Nurse Required
