As an OR Nurse, you will advocate for patients throughout their surgical journey, ensuring safety, precision, and compassion at every step. You’ll collaborate with expert surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists in a fast-paced, rewarding environment that values your skills and supports your professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care.
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (e.g., physical, psychological, educational, and risk-screen data) based on the patient’s chronological/developmental age.
  • Communicates and documents patient assessments with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Utilizes all available resources to meet the needs of the patient and family.
  • Develops and documents an individualized plan of care, treatment, and services tailored to the patient’s needs, strengths, limitations, and goals.
  • Complies with organizational policies, procedures, and protocols, including those governing safety, medication administration, and documentation.
  • Revises the plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation accordingly.
  • Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to the Nursing Research Department, using a research article from the last 5 years conducted in the United States.

Compliance

  • Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year.
  • Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in a timely manner.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required).
  • Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • At least 6 months of RN experience.

Physical Requirements

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

Pay

The listed base pay range is $39.75 - $52.99 per hour. This range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant and may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
