Registered Nurse - Night Shift Med/Surg T8

Job Summary

Captures a patient-focused team in providing direct and collaborative health care in various clinical settings to promote and restore optimal health across the life span. Utilizes the nursing process to provide care reflecting an understanding of individual, cultural, and religious diversities and patient rights. Manages case management to deliver comprehensive, coordinated, and seamless care. Facilitates the patient/provider relationship throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Able to identify immediate and long-range plans for patient care and involve the patient and family in the plan
• Sets priorities for the patient's needs, making decisions based on sound judgment
• Maintains vigilance over the patient's clinical status and assesses for significant changes
• Communicates clearly with patients, family members, physicians, and the care team to ensure patient needs are met
• Safely administers medication on time and in accordance with hospital policies
• Performs venipuncture and starts intravenous lines safely

Requirements

• Active NYS RN license
• Bachelor's Degree - Nursing preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a medical/surgical setting
