The unit has 30 patient beds between two units with a mix of private and semi‑private rooms, serving adult and geriatric patients admitted for acute multi‑system medical diagnoses, post‑surgical care, and those with dual medical and mental health diagnoses. Nurses on this unit develop clinical and compassionate practices for patients with complex medical and mental health conditions, supported by the hospital’s Level I Trauma Center reputation. The Professional Nursing Practice Model emphasizes patient‑ and family‑centered care, and nurses manage their practice through a Shared Governance Model focused on evidence‑based nursing.
