Overview
Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its ACUTE Medical / Telemetry unit. This is a full-time night shift position with a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

This role is for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where critical thinking, prioritization, and teamwork define every shift. The RN joins a dynamic acute care team that manages a diverse adult patient population with complex medical conditions. The unit is known for strong interdisciplinary collaboration, professional autonomy, and a culture that values bedside nursing expertise.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Primary Duties
- Assessing and admitting patients
- Rounding checks
- Giving medications
- Talking with family members
- Being responsible for the overall care of your patients
Requirements
- Education: RN Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN
- Licensure/Certification: RN License valid to work in the State of Virginia; BLS and NIHSS within 90 days of hire
- Previous RN experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome
