Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical, PRN, Night Shift

About the role

The staff nurse provides comprehensive nursing care across the patient lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. They operate within organizational policies, uphold standards of practice, and coordinate patient care activities to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Deliver direct patient care in accordance with best practices and organizational policies.
• Coordinate and supervise care activities of assigned staff to maintain quality standards.
• Maintain professional growth and accountability through ongoing education.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and specialty requirements, including mandatory certifications like BLS, ACLS, PALS, and specialty-specific credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program with a valid RN license.
• Hospital nursing experience preferred; at least one year for PRN roles.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, patient safety, and quality improvement.
• Ability to coordinate care, demonstrate professional growth, and adhere to policies.
• Additional certifications relevant to specialty units (e.g., ICU, ER, Dialysis, Pediatrics) may be required.
