Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical / PCU

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care within our healthcare setting. The role involves coordinating nursing care, educating patients and families, supporting professional practice across various settings, and functioning within the Mayo Nursing Care Model. Leadership activities such as precepting, mentoring, and participating in quality improvement are encouraged. The RN delegates patient care based on skill, experience, and acuity, demonstrating excellent communication, mentoring, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care for patients.
• Educate patients and families.
• Support professional nursing practice across various settings.
• Function within the Mayo Nursing Care Model.
• Engage in leadership activities such as precepting, mentoring, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Delegate patient care based on skill, experience, and acuity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a registered nursing program.
• Proof of baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years, if applicable.
• Preferred: One year of RN experience or current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic.
• Previous ICU/PCU experience preferred.
• Current Minnesota RN license.
• BLS certification.
• ECG and ACLS certifications preferred (to be obtained within specified periods).

Schedule

Part-time, 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
