Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Provides direct and indirect patient care in a Med/Surg Surgical setting, collaborating with healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes. Utilizes critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care to deliver high-quality services, respecting patient dignity and rights. Performs general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritizes care effectively.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assesses patients based on their medical conditions.
• Administers medications as prescribed and provides age-appropriate care.
• Develops and evaluates patient and family education plans.
• Utilizes nursing knowledge to perform treatments and procedures.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
• Assists physicians with procedures and handles technical skills.
• Addresses psychosocial needs and communicates with social services for discharge planning.
• Practices cost-effective resource management.
• Promotes patient safety and reduces risks of harm.
• Engages in lifelong learning to enhance nursing skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Computer literacy required; additional certifications like ACLS/PALS are preferred.
