About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to make informed decisions, working collaboratively with patients and families to promote health and uphold patient rights. The role involves providing clinical leadership, ensuring continuity of care aligned with hospital policies and goals, and supporting the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership and other disciplines to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
• Guide and intervene during life-threatening situations.
• Evaluate intervention outcomes and effectiveness.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
• Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure quality patient care.
• Support ongoing professional development and learning.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years experience in the current unit or a similar setting.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
