Registered Nurse - Med Tele (5200) Days
About the Role
Mercy Hospital Fort Smith Dedicated Education Unit is an 18-bed unit focused on teaching eager and upcoming graduate nurses the fundamental skills necessary to be successful. This unit cares for Medical Telemetry patients with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio (day shift only). Each nurse will act as a preceptor to two senior-level nursing students who will take total care of the four patients. A clinical rotation preceptor will also be available for support and oversight of the students.

Responsibilities
- Precept two senior-level nursing students, guiding them in the total care of four Medical Telemetry patients.
- Collaborate with a clinical rotation preceptor for support and oversight of students.
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a Medical Telemetry setting.
- Engage in education, best practices, and leadership development.
Requirements
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or completion of a course within the probationary period.
- ACLS and BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- At least 1 year of experience as an RN (required for sign-on bonus eligibility).
