Education and Licensure

• RN-Associate's Degree, or RN-Bachelor's Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master's Degree
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire

Experience

• Previous acute care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process
• The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing
• The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas

Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program

This 10-week TTP program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in Medical-Surgical areas. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program to support your transition to practice.

• Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards with in-person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs
