Registered Nurse - Med Surge/Tele, 2B Unit

About the role

Provides professional nursing care by assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs in accordance with policies and procedures. Manages and directs care for assigned patients, utilizing effective communication and fostering a safe environment. Supports clinical and professional competency, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and participates in quality and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, collaborating with physicians and team members to address patient needs.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to promote quality and safety, contributing to research and improvement projects.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
• Educate patients and families to facilitate care transitions.
• Support unit and hospital goals through teamwork and participation in performance improvement processes.
• Perform clinical skills specific to the specialty and leverage technology to optimize care delivery.
• Demonstrate leadership by mentoring new staff, delegating appropriately, and contributing to team development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with current RN licensure.
• Knowledge reflecting current nursing practices, organized and able to prioritize care.
• Basic computer skills and BLS certification required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and 1+ years of acute care experience.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs, stand, walk, and perform activities such as bending, kneeling, and CPR as needed.
