About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. Collaborates with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, using appropriate age and population-specific standards. Cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care. Responsible for planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions. Functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure. The Sanford Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.

Subject to Article XIX, the nurse awarded this position will not be eligible to file notice for another position for one (1) year from the effective date of the awarded position (per section 19.05).

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients.

  • Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge.
  • Provide care for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Plan and coordinate care, perform patient assessment, provide patient education, triage, and other nursing interventions.
  • Function within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program required (e.g., AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Schedule

  • Full-time position with a weekly schedule of 40 hours.
  • Start time: 7:00 PM.
  • Shift length: 12.25 hours.
  • Weekend rotation required.
  • FTE: 0.91.
  • Overtime will be calculated for all hours worked over the scheduled shift or 40 hours in one work week.

Pay

Salary range: $34.00 - $50.75 per hour.
