Registered Nurse - Med Surg Ortho- Full Time- Nights

About the role

Provides professional nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical and Orthopedic unit(s) utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team in accordance with the Medical-Surgical and Orthopedic units' scope of care, ensuring high visibility/accessibility for effective communication.
• Serves the ages of the population served, Newborn through geriatric, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served in the Medical-Surgical and Orthopedic unit(s).

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an accredited Nursing program, Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience: One year recent acute care nursing experience preferred, Previous Orthopedic and/or Medical-Surgical experience preferred.
• Sufficient computer skills are required to document, enter information into the electronic medical records system, and complete annual and required online education modules.
• In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred.

Skills

Knowledge of nursing practices in assigned department. Highly effective written and verbal communications skills. Proficient computer skills as are required to document, communicate and enter information into the electronic medical records system. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to collaborate with various departments in and outside of the Barton Health System in order to provide consistently exceptional patient care.
