About the role
The RN Team Lead is a leadership role responsible for supervising and coordinating nursing care within a unit. They collaborate with management to plan and delegate patient care based on skill, experience, acuity, and resources, ensuring efficient workflow. The role involves providing direct patient care, patient and family education, and facilitating care transitions. They support staff development through teaching, precepting, and participating in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities. The Team Lead operates within the Mayo Nursing Care Model, maintaining accountability for all phases of nursing care.
Qualifications
- Nursing diploma or associate degree
- At least one year of relevant RN experience
- Current RN licensure
- BLS certification
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Additional licensure or specialty training may be necessary depending on the work setting
