Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

Role Overview

This position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a diverse patient population. The nurse serves as a primary or accountable caregiver based on unit needs, ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families on health promotion, treatment plans, and disease management.
• Administer medications safely, utilizing pharmacology knowledge in line with policies.
• Support resource management, including staffing, supplies, and services.
• Adhere to nursing standards, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Participate in governance, quality improvement, peer review, and evidence-based practices.
• Mentor new staff, students, and observers, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe, effective patient care.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current New York State RN license; certifications like CCRN, ACLS, PALS are advantageous.
• Compassionate, adaptable, collaborative, and committed to clinical excellence.

Work Environment

Fast-paced clinical setting with exposure to equipment, disinfectants, and PPE, serving patients of all ages. Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift frequently required.
